The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa (JUSA) expresses profound sadness at the news of the earthquake disaster that has hit Morocco, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives, with many more injured.

 

Morocco has suffered extensive damage to homes and infrastructure, especially in the region around the city of Marrakesh. We laud the efforts of all who are helping with the recovery efforts that are underway and make du’aas for the safety of all those buried under collapsed buildings and rubble, so that they get rescued, and be reunited with their families.

 

May the Almighty forgive the souls of those who have lost their lives. We ask Allah to grant speedy recovery to those who have suffered injury, and to be The Comforter of those who have sustained loss and are in great distress.
