Under the auspices of the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa, a team of volunteer IT professionals have embarked on an initiative of assisting schools with setting up G-Suite Education. On this platform, schools will be able to configure online classrooms, free of charge. 

 

Any school that requires assistance to setup G-Suite for Education (which includes Google Classroom) is welcome to apply for technical assistance that will cover the following:

 

1. Assistance with the completion of an application with Google for G-Suite for Education.

 

2. Guidance on aspects you need to know, before implementing Google Classroom.

 

3. Assistance with setting up educator emails, learner emails and classrooms.

 

4. Configuration of preferred security settings for G-Suite for Education.

 

5. A 2-hour Google Classroom Getting Started online training session for educators.

 

Online learning opens many possibilities of offering lessons remotely, especially in this period of restricted movement. We therefore encourage educators and schools to take advantage of this once-off offer which expires on the 30th June 2020. An application to the service can be completed here
