Due to no confirmed reports of sighting of the #Hilaal, the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA), determined that in South Africa, Rajab 1444 will end with 30 days on Tuesday 21 February 2023. It follows then that 1st Shabaan 1444 corresponds to Wednesday, 22 February 2023.

 

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Blessed Ramadan 1444 shall be after sunset on Wednesday  22 Mar 2023. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 22 Hours 53 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
