Palestine and Masjid al Aqsa under Attack. Again.
A Jumuah Message to be Read Out in Masaajid on Friday, 14 May 2021
Glory be to the One Who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque whose surroundings We have blessed, so that We may show him some of Our signs. Indeed, He Alone, is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (Noble Qur’an 17:1)
We have once again been reminded that the Zionist colonial outpost that is occupying Palestine will not stop at anything in humiliating an occupied Palestinian people it wishes never existed.
As Palestinians fend off the current aggression, against a force armed with the most sophisticated military hardware, what fuels their resistance, against all odds, is nothing but their faith and the legitimacy of their just cause, as they face evictions from their homes and denied their right to worship at the Noble Sanctuary.
This is a moment that tests the Ummah’s resolve in not only expressing solidarity but taking appropriate steps that prove our claims of Islamic brotherhood. The defence of Masjid al Aqsa is the responsibility of the entire global Ummah. We owe it to Palestinians on the frontline, for the resistance to the occupation and the protection of Masjid al Aqsa and its Blessed Precincts.
Sayyidatina Maymuna Radhi-Allahu anha said: “‘O Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, tell us about Bait al Maqdis.’ He said: ‘It is the place of Judgment Day where everyone will be called. Come and pray in it, for one prayer in it is like one thousand prayers elsewhere’. ‘What if one cannot go there?’ I asked. He replied, ‘Send oil for its lamps; for whoever does so, it is as if they went there.’” (Musnad Imam Ahmed)
The shamefully biased media will not report that stun grenades are being thrown at the feet of young girls, or that lethal force is being aimed at innocent women; they will neither tell the world about the desecration of the Noble Sanctuary, by ill-mannered young officers of the Zionist security machinery. We know very well about all this and more. We therefore feel the pain of our sisters and brothers, and should do the needful of what is within our control.
- First and foremost, we should turn to Almighty with sincere repentance and ask for forgiveness, for our own transgressions, causing pain to other parts of the Ummah.
- Secondly, prayer is a potent weapon of a believer. We therefore should intensify our supplications to the Almighty, the Disposer of our affairs, to protect Palestinian people, ease their plight, strengthen their resolve and make them prevail against the oppressors occupying their land.
- Thirdly, participate in protests to express our indignation and urge our leaders to call the Zionists to order and bring them to book, for their extra-judicial killings, expansion of illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian land and denial of Palestinian rights and freedom.
- Finally, let us contribute to the various funds that have been set up as an emergency response, for medical care, legal representation for detainees arbitrarily incarcerated and other relief efforts.
When we do it for Palestine, we are also doing it for ourselves, our faith and sense of purpose, where supposed leaders of the Muslim world are choosing to look the other way.
May the Almighty vanquish the oppressors and their enablers. May He grant victory to the down-trodden and the oppressed. Aameen.
